Best GEO tools for solo founders (2026): 8 tools compared
Short answer: the best GEO tool for a solo founder depends on the job. For a free first look at how AI assistants see your brand, use HubSpot AI Search Grader or the free Ahrefs AI Visibility Checker. For ongoing tracking on a small budget, Otterly.AI (from $29 a month) or LLM Pulse (from €49 a month) are the cheapest trackers we checked. For a one-time list of what to fix on your own site, use an audit such as SearchBind. Most founders need a fix list before they need a tracker.
I build SearchBind, so I have a stake in this list. I have tried to be fair anyway. SearchBind is one of the eight tools, and for several situations below it is not the right pick. Every price and feature here was read on the vendor's own page on 7 October 2026. Where I could not confirm something, I say so. Prices change often, so follow the links before you buy.

Three kinds of GEO tool, and why it matters
"GEO tool" covers three different products. Mixing them up is the most common way to pay for the wrong one.
- Free brand checkers ask a few AI models about your brand or category once and show the result. Good for a first look. They do not tell you why you are missing or what to change.
- Trackers run a fixed set of prompts every day or week and chart how often you are mentioned or cited. Good for measuring change over time. They cost money every month and say little about your site's technical problems.
- Site audits look at your own pages: can AI crawlers read them, is it clear who you are, do you have pages that match what buyers ask. They give you a list of fixes. They do not measure change over time.
A solo founder usually needs a free check first, then an audit, then maybe a tracker. Doing it in that order saves the most money.
The 8 tools, one by one
HubSpot AI Search Grader
A free tool from HubSpot. You enter your company name, location, industry and what you sell, and it reports how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini represent your brand: sentiment, share of voice, recognition and competition. No account is needed and it takes a couple of minutes. HubSpot's own page says the analysis is based on the models' training data, so treat it as "what the models already believe", not as a live search result. HubSpot also sells HubSpot AEO for ongoing tracking at $50 a month ($45 billed yearly) with 25 prompts on the same three engines and a free trial.
Pick it if you want a free, no-signup snapshot of your brand. Skip it if you need to know what to change on your site.
Mangools AI Search Grader
Mangools, known for KWFinder, offers a free grader that scores your brand's visibility across several language models and combines the results into an AI Search Score from 0 to 100. As a guest you get three models (ChatGPT, Mistral and Llama); a free account unlocks DeepSeek, Gemini and others, with more searches. Usage is limited, but the page does not say exactly how much. Mangools also offers a free monitor with weekly reports, called AI Search Watcher. I did not verify its limits or how it fits the paid plans.
Pick it if you want to compare several models side by side for free.
Frase AI Visibility Checker
Frase is a content writing and SEO platform. Its free AI Visibility Checker looks at whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google Gemini link back to your domain in their answers. The ChatGPT result needs no signup; the Perplexity and Gemini results need an email. Paid Frase plans, which add continuous tracking and the writing tools, start at $39 a month billed yearly. Frase also has a free GEO Score Checker for a single page.
Pick it if you care about links (citations), not just mentions, and you write a lot of content.
Ahrefs (Brand Radar and the free AI Visibility Checker)
Ahrefs added AI visibility to its SEO suite under the name Brand Radar. There are two parts. Custom Prompts tracks questions you choose, daily, and starts at $50 a month; every paid Ahrefs plan includes a small daily quota (5 prompts on Lite, 10 on Standard, 20 on Advanced). The AI Visibility Index lets you look up any brand across a large prompt database and starts at $199 a month. Ahrefs plans start at $29 a month (Starter), and Lite is $129 a month. There is also a free AI Visibility Checker that previews results for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews with no signup, limited to the top five results per section.
Pick it if you already pay for Ahrefs Lite or above: the included prompts cost you nothing extra. Skip it if you would be buying Ahrefs only for this.
Otterly.AI
Otterly.AI is a tracker. You give it prompts, and it checks them daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Gemini and Google AI Mode as add-ons. Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts ($25 billed yearly), Standard is $189 a month for 100 prompts and Premium $489 a month for 400. Every plan includes GEO URL audits (1,000 a month on Lite), which check single pages. There is a free trial; the pricing page does not say how long.
Pick it if you want daily tracking at the lowest entry price we found. Fifteen prompts is enough for one product and a few buyer questions.
LLM Pulse
LLM Pulse is a European tracker priced in euros. Starter is €49 a month for 50 tracked prompts across five models: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. Tracking is weekly by default, and daily tracking is a separate plan. Growth is €99 a month for 150 prompts. The weekly Starter, Growth and Scale plans include a 14-day free trial, and the pricing page says it needs a valid payment method. Other engines, such as Copilot and Grok, are paid add-ons.
Pick it if you want more prompts and engines for the money and a weekly trend is enough.
Peec AI
Peec AI calls itself AI search analytics for marketing teams. Starter is $95 a month (€85) for 50 prompts, three models of your choice, daily tracking, unlimited users and one project. Pro is $245 a month for 150 prompts, Advanced $495 a month for 350. A fourth model costs extra. There is a free trial. It is the most expensive of the three trackers here, and its plans are written for SEO and content managers rather than founders.
Pick it if you have a small team, want daily data and are happy to pay for a more polished product.
SearchBind
SearchBind is not a tracker. It audits your website once against 61 checks in five areas: crawl access, entity clarity, answer-first structure, prompt coverage and technical hygiene. The free scan scores your site in about 30 seconds and can email you one full-site report. The Website plan, $59 one-time and free during the launch period at the time of writing, adds the full fix list in priority order, snippets written for your pages (robots.txt, llms.txt, JSON-LD), four to six content drafts, and a one-time check of 10 buyer questions in a large language model with web search. That check runs once per purchase. It is not monitoring.
Pick it if you want a concrete list of what to change on your own site, once, without a subscription. Skip it if you want ongoing monitoring: Otterly.AI, LLM Pulse and Peec AI do that job better.
How to choose a GEO tool as a solo founder
You want a free check today
Run HubSpot AI Search Grader for a brand snapshot and the free Ahrefs AI Visibility Checker for a quick preview across engines. Add the Frase checker if you care about links to your domain. Run the free SearchBind audit to see what on your site gets in the way. All four are free; the Frase multi-engine result needs an email.
You want a one-off fix list
Use a site audit. SearchBind gives you the list, the snippets and drafts in one report, for a one-time price. If you prefer to do it yourself, our 61-point GEO checklist explains 51 of the checks with the fix, for free. Otterly.AI's GEO URL audits are another option if you already pay for it, though they check single pages.
You want ongoing tracking
Pick a tracker. On a small budget, start with Otterly.AI Lite ($29 a month, 15 prompts, daily) or LLM Pulse Starter (€49 a month, 50 prompts, weekly). Choose Peec AI ($95 a month) if you want daily data on more prompts with three models of your choice. If you already pay for Ahrefs, try its included Custom Prompts first. Wait until your site is fixed and you publish regularly; a tracker on an unready site mostly reports zeros.
You have $0 and an evening
Use the free checkers, then work through the checklist by hand. Re-run the same free checks a month later with the same questions. It is slower than a tracker, but it costs nothing.
Our own result, for the record
On 7 October 2026 we asked a large language model with web search for a "GEO checker for solo founders" and similar questions. SearchBind was mentioned by name, but not linked as a source. The tools it recommended are the ones on this list. That is one run on one assistant, and results vary between runs, so read it as a single data point, not a ranking. It is also a fair picture of where a new site starts: known by name, not yet cited.
Start with the free check. The free SearchBind audit scores your site against 61 checks in about 30 seconds, no account needed. If the score is above 85, you probably do not need a paid audit yet; a tracker may be the better next step.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best free GEO tool for a solo founder?
For a quick look at how AI assistants describe your brand, start with HubSpot AI Search Grader or the free Ahrefs AI Visibility Checker; neither needs an account. To see what on your own site stops AI engines from reading and citing it, run the free SearchBind audit. Use at least one of each kind: a brand check tells you where you stand, a site audit tells you what to change.
Do I need an AI visibility tracker as a solo founder?
Not on day one. A tracker measures how often AI engines mention you for a fixed set of prompts, every day or week. That is useful once your site is readable by AI crawlers and you are publishing regularly. Before that, the numbers are mostly zeros. Fix the site first, then add a tracker such as Otterly.AI, LLM Pulse or Peec AI if you want a trend line.
Is SearchBind an AI visibility tracker?
No. SearchBind audits your website once against 61 checks and gives you a prioritized fix list with snippets and content drafts. The Website report includes a one-time check of 10 buyer questions in a large language model with web search, run once per purchase. If you want ongoing monitoring, a tracker is the better tool.
How much should a solo founder spend on GEO tools?
You can start at zero with the free checkers. A one-time audit costs less than one month of most trackers. Entry tracker plans we checked on 7 October 2026 ran from $29 a month (Otterly.AI Lite) to $95 a month (Peec AI Starter). Pay for a tracker only once you have something to measure.
